The City’s Department of Economic Development serves as an advocate for the Frederick business community. Our mission, to increase economic opportunities for Frederick residents through job creation, revitalization and reinvestment, is achieved through a focus on four strategic priorities: 1) job creation – business attraction, retention and entrepreneur support; 2) business infrastructure advocacy; 3) downtown revitalization and 4) corridor revitalization. DED offers the following services to existing Frederick companies, as well as new businesses looking to open operations in the community:

  • Connections with industry resources, employee training and more
  • Development review and permitting guidance for expansion projects

• Site Selection Assistance (CoStar)

• Access to Frederick County and State of Maryland business assistance programs
• Educational and networking programs and opportunities

DED works in close partnership with the Frederick County Office of Economic Development and the State of Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development to provide comprehensive economic development support to Frederick’s business community.
