Downtown Frederick Partnership
Dedicated to enhancing, promoting and preserving the vitality of Downtown Frederick, the Partnership is the Main Street organization for the City of Frederick. Through 2 staff members, a strong and diverse 25-member Board of Directors, and a host of volunteers, the Partnership is a non-membership 501(c)(3) organization that provides support and advocacy for downtown business and delivers top-notch events such as First Saturday and Alive @ Five.
Entrepreneur Support Network
Entrepreneurism is alive and strong in Frederick for many reasons, such as a strategic location in a top technology corridor and innovative federal, university and private research facilities. Frederick fosters entrepreneurship, offering a business-friendly environment with a responsive and proactive network of service providers.
Frederick is also home to a unique, collaborative community of business support providers. At the Frederick Entrepreneur Support Network, there’s no wrong door, no matter where contact is first made within the network. There are multiple resources that can best help with a current business challenge or opportunity. Communication and collaboration lead to the best service available to help Frederick’s business community. It all adds up to a wonderful and welcoming environment for entrepreneurs, or businesses of any size or in any phase of growth!
Fort Detrick Business Development Office
An off-base business resource center, the FDBDO was created to be the primary portal to help establish partnerships between commercial businesses and opportunities at Ft. Detrick. The FDBDO assists companies in the region in attaining contracts and subcontracts on Fort Detrick. These business relationships support access to and navigation through the complex government procurement process.
Frederick County African American Chamber of Commerce
The goal of the Frederick County African American Chamber is to foster the growth and success of African-American and minority businesses through education, networking and advocacy.
Frederick County Chamber of Commerce
The Frederick County Chamber of Commerce is an association of businesses organized to ensure the economic and social vitality of Frederick County by advocating and promoting the interests of business, sound government practices, and an informed membership and community.
Frederick County Office of Economic Development
OED’s mission is to support, retain and foster the growth of existing businesses in Frederick County and attract new businesses that bring career opportunities that enable Frederick County residents to work where they live.
Frederick County Workforce Services/ FCC College Customized Training
A partnership between Frederick County and Frederick Community College to provide customized training and job skills opportunities to Frederick businesses and their employees.
Frederick Innovative Technology Center
FITCI is the county's first business incubator, founded in 2004, which provides a supportive environment, including infrastructure, mentorship and a network of service providers to help Frederick County entrepreneurs achieve success by encouraging technological innovation and accelerating the development of commercially viable technology-based entities.
Small Business Development Center
Funded in part by the Small Business Administration, SBDC offices are located in all 50 states throughout the US. In Frederick, the SBDC offices are co-located at the Business and Employment Center, and provide assistance to small businesses (start-ups or existing) through a variety of services, including: business plan creation, obtaining financial assistance, and more.
Tourism Council of Frederick County
The Tourism Council of Frederick County is a public-private partnership dedicated to enhancing the economic benefit of tourism for Frederick County's businesses, attractions, local governments, and residents. Membership is open to businesses and individuals interested in promoting tourism in Frederick County.
