National retailers, located in major small and strip center locations, complement hip and trendy locally-owned specialty stores and antique shops in the downtown historic district. Frederick is home to two regional malls – FSK Mall and the Frederick Town Mall; the latter of which is proposed for major renovations, possibly beginning in 2010.

Downtown Frederick’s specialty retailers have offerings to satisfy a variety of interests. The beautiful historic buildings in Downtown are home to more than 200 antique dealers, several clothiers, home furnishing stores and jewelers. And many of the shops are open until 9pm or later for Late Night Fridays & First Saturday Gallery Walk, so you can shop after you enjoy dinner or a show.
